Okay....NOT sleeping through the night!
You know how I posted that they were sleeping through the night? Well, not so much - I spoke too soon. Payton is not sleeping through anymore. I love when she's up from midnight to 1:00 am, then Killian wakes up at 5:00 a.m. That's the best!

Softball
Jacey is in her first year of Girls Fastpitch Softball this year, and LOVING it! She loves being catcher - and she's really good at it too! She even received the game ball (that's like being the MVP) a few weeks ago! It keeps her busy, with up to 3 games a week, plus practices at least once a week. Thank goodness for one of my best friends Jill, who is also the team manager, who helps out with picking her up or dropping her off when schedules collide. Jacey really needed something like this, to both get her physically active and help her make friends. Jacey has always been very outgoing, much more than I am, and has never been afraid to try anything, but never really found something she liked doing so much. I love watching her catch and bat.
I do enjoy watching most sports - which is good because when Chris has the remote that's usually what's on! For those of you who know me well, you probably know that I am not good at playing sports. My team-sport experience lasted all of one day when I was a kid. And when Chris tried to teach me how to play tennis a few years ago, I ended up in tears. I do have a pretty pink tennis racquet from it though! I know Payton and Killian will be really good at all sports, because Chris is so good at them, and his genes are bound to cancel mine out. Well, let's hope!
Here are some pictures of Jacey's game yesterday. She's in the RED!

If You're Happy & You Know It...
Killian and Payton dancing to one of their favorite songs, "If You're Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands". This is SO cute!
Sleeping through the night!
It took 14 months, but I think it's safe to say that Payton is officially sleeping through the night. All night in her own crib! WOO HOO! FINALLY!
She's had sleep problems since the day she was born. She was never a good napper, and I still can't put her down in her crib to fall asleep at night, she usually has to fall asleep in the swing. I know, I know, very bad mommy! We tried CIO with her and it did NOT work. Actually, I think it backfired and made her sleeping problems worse! So then she ended up in our bed every night. Against Chris's wishes of course, but it was so much easier to pull her into bed with me when she woke up at 1, 2, 3, or 4:00 am!
I always thought that I would NEVER allow my bed to turn into a "family bed". Kids belonged in their own beds, not in mine. Well, one thing having twins has taught me is to never say never. I will never judge someone for the way they decide to parent or do things ever again. You just never know how you will handle a situation until you're forced to face it. Especially if it has to do with sleep, which is so important!
And then there is the teething. People always ask me if they're teething when I talk about her sleeping issues. With multiples, you are in a constant state of teething, one of them always seems to be cutting a tooth. I'm hoping that this sleeping through the night is not short lived, and doesn't mean that she's just not teething at this very moment.
Then there's my sweet Killian, who since day one has been a wonderful sleeper. I can put him down at naptime or bedtime, and he just rolls over and falls asleep. What a good boy! :)

Anniversary Vacation
For our 3-year wedding anniversary, Chris and I went on a one-night mini vacation. It's been almost 2 years since we have been able to do anything like that! Killian and Payton stayed with Grandma and Papa. I was really nervous about leaving them overnight, not that I was concerned that something would happen, but that I would miss them so much that I wouldn't enjoy myself. I did miss them a lot, but I did enjoy myself too, the break was nice, and I think we really needed it.
We went to Morongo Casino, and it was so much fun! We went to a restaurant on the top floor and we ate one of the most expensive dinners I've ever had! It was nice to sit and eat dinner together and have a real conversation without "pass the sippy" or "more cheerios?" involved. Our room was really nice and we got room service in the morning before we left - a first for both of us. The best part - we came home winners! I'm not a big gambler, so coming home with $100 more than I left with is such a big deal to me! And Chris won so much money at blackjack!
I couldn't get home fast enough on our way back. I seriously felt like I was having physical withdrawals from the kids one point. It sure was nice getting home and kissing their squishy cheeks!
